Full Professor of Land Use Planning for the Scientific Disciplinary Sector AGR / 10 at the Department of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, University of Tuscia, Viterbo.

Degree in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Tuscia of Viterbo 110/110 cum laude
 
Scientific activities
The research activity is mainly addressed to spatial and landscape planning analysing the interactions between physical, biotic and human factors.
The research has focused on the following issues: analysis of the landscape and ecosystem / landscape services; remote sensing and technologies for digital mapping and geographic information systems; environmental monitoring and modeling applied to spatial planning concerns; analysis and control of diffuse sources of pollution (NPS) from agriculture, management and protection of water resources, definition of Best Management Practices (BMP) for the protection of land, BMPS for urban water management and microclimate control, planning of protected areas.

A) International Projects
2001-2003 Research project of the Fifth Framework Programme (environment) of the European Union "Systems approach to environmentally acceptable farming", together with research units from France, Finland, Norway, Austria, Italy. Reference sites in Italy: lake Vico watershed (VT); River Mincio watershed (MN), research coordinator Prof. Leone.
2003-2004: research project financed by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs "Implementation of a territorial information system for a sustainable agricultural development in Hungary". Collaboration with: IRSA-CNR, Research Institute Vituki (Budapest) and Faculty of Agriculture in Debrecen (Eastern Hungary), research coordinator dr. Ripa.
2006-2008: research project Interreg IIIB MEDOCC pour la cohèsion du territoires de l’Europe du Sud' "Integrated management of water resources, development and comparison of common methodologies to contrast desertification in the countries of the MEDOCC area", research coordinator Prof. Leone.

2010-2013: research project PRIN-MIUR 2008, “Nature's Rape, Environmental Depletion and Devastation: the utmost, global violation of Human Rights. The dramatic sitaution of the Middle East and Central Asia conflict and post-conflict areas. The case of the West Bank (Palestine) and the Kabul Region (Afghanistan). From an acute environmental deterioration, damage, and unsustainable land overuse to the long-term challenge of environmental recovery and restoration, protection and ethics as key factors in the process towards a lasting peace”, research coordinator Prof.ssa Vallino.

Since 2011 member of the PhD board in “Science of Crop and animal production” of the University of Tuscia

She presented articles and has been chairman in national and international conferences.
She has been member of the organizing committee of several conferences.
She is referee for many international scientific journals.

Since 2000 she has been in charge of the following courses both in BA and Master’s degree programs:
Analysis and Planning of rural areas, Spatial Planning and Management, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems.
She is supervisor of several theses and student training activities and is supervisor and co- supervisor of
various PhD students
